Jumpseed (Persicaria virginiana) is a Persicaria. They can grow in dry, shady areas.
It blooms in midsummer to late summer/early fall. It has a stalk of small white flowers.[1]
Cultivars exist, for example Persicaria virginiana var. filiformis 'Painter's Palette' has variegated leaves and red to coral/apricot flowers.[2]
